Shubble respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with applicable privacy laws, including the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

This Privacy Policy explains how Shubble collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when families, riders, drivers, operators, and support teams use the Shubble platform.

Who we are

Shubble is operated by Shubble (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2020/049097/07, at 153 Main Road, Somerset West, South Africa.

This policy applies to the Shubble mobile applications, website, customer support channels, drivers, operators, and related services.

Information we collect

Shubble collects account information such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, profile details, emergency contact information, and family account relationships.

Where a ride is booked for a child or minor, Shubble collects the passenger details needed to provide the service, including child name, age or profile information, pickup and drop-off details, trip instructions, and relevant safety notes. This information must be provided by a parent, legal guardian, or a person authorised by them.

Shubble collects trip and location information such as pickup and drop-off locations, scheduled times, route progress, driver assignment, live trip status, booking references, and trip support records.

Payment information includes payment status, payment references, transaction history, refund records, and saved-payment tokens provided by payment processors. Shubble does not store full card numbers.

Driver and operator records may include identity verification, driver licence and PDP details, vehicle details, safety and training records, background or compliance checks, roster details, and trip execution records.

Shubble may also collect device, usage, diagnostics, crash, log, and support-message information to operate, secure, and improve the platform.

How we use information

Shubble uses personal information to create and manage accounts, process bookings, match riders with drivers and operators, coordinate trips, provide live ride visibility, process payments, send service communications, provide support, and improve the platform.

Shubble also uses information for safety, route monitoring, incident handling, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, compliance with legal obligations, and protecting riders, drivers, operators, and families.

Safety and monitoring

Shubble prioritises safety, especially where minors are transported. Safety measures may include trip tracking, driver verification, live trip updates, support review, panic or emergency flows where available, and communication or incident review where necessary for safety.

Some operators or vehicles may use additional safety equipment or monitoring where applicable and lawful. These controls are intended to improve safety but cannot remove all transport risk.

Who we share information with

Shubble shares the minimum information needed with drivers, operators, payment processors, hosting and backend providers, maps and location providers, communication providers, analytics or diagnostics providers where enabled, professional advisers, law enforcement, regulators, or other parties where required by law or needed for safety and dispute resolution.

Shubble does not sell personal information.

Children and minors

Shubble provides services that may involve minors. Child information is collected only where needed to provide, support, and safeguard the ride, and must be supplied with parental, guardian, or authorised consent.

Shubble limits access to child and trip information to people who need it for the service, such as the booking account holder, assigned driver, operator, and support or safety personnel.

Data security

Shubble uses technical and organisational safeguards such as secure infrastructure, access controls, authentication, and provider security controls to protect personal information.

No digital service can guarantee perfect security, so Shubble also monitors for operational, account, payment, and safety issues where reasonably possible.

Retention and deletion

Shubble keeps personal information only for as long as it is needed for service delivery, safety, legal compliance, tax and accounting, fraud prevention, payment reconciliation, support, dispute handling, and legitimate operational records.

If an account deletion request is submitted, Shubble will delete, deactivate, or anonymise account and profile information where reasonably possible. Some records, including trip, payment, safety, fraud-prevention, dispute, tax, accounting, and legal records, may be retained in limited form where necessary or required by law.

See the Account and Data Deletion page for the current deletion process.

Your rights

Under South African privacy law, including POPIA where applicable, you may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccurate information, deletion where legally permissible, or object to certain processing.

Riders can update some profile details inside the app and can request account deletion from Settings. Privacy requests can be sent to hello@shubble.co.za.

Cookies and website tracking

The Shubble website may use cookies or similar technologies to operate the site, improve the user experience, understand traffic, and support marketing or security where enabled. Browser settings can be used to manage cookies.
