This page explains how to request deletion of a Shubble account and what happens to account, trip, payment, and safety records after a request.
How to request deletion
Riders can request account deletion from the Shubble Rider app by opening Settings and selecting Delete Account.
If you cannot access the app, email hello@shubble.co.za from the email address linked to your account, or call 063 438 6395. Include your name, phone number, account email, and a short note that you want to delete your Shubble account.
What happens after a request
Shubble flags the account for deletion, signs the rider out where the request is made inside the app, and blocks normal use while the request is pending.
Shubble will then delete, deactivate, or anonymise account and profile data where reasonably possible and where no legal, safety, payment, fraud-prevention, dispute, or operational reason requires retention.
Data we aim to delete or deactivate
Shubble aims to delete or deactivate:
- Account profile details that are no longer needed.
- Saved places and preferences where they are not needed for records.
- Saved payment tokens where no longer required for billing support.
- Marketing or non-essential communication preferences.
- Child or passenger profile details where deletion is legally permissible.
Data we may need to retain
Shubble may retain limited records where necessary for safety, legal compliance, fraud prevention, payment reconciliation, tax and accounting, dispute handling, insurance, operator accountability, or law enforcement requests.
This may include booking references, trip dates, pickup and drop-off records, driver and operator assignment records, payment and refund records, support tickets, safety or incident reports, and audit logs.
Timing
Shubble aims to review deletion requests as soon as reasonably possible. Some requests may take longer if there are active bookings, unpaid amounts, unresolved refunds, safety reviews, disputes, or legal obligations.
If a request cannot be completed immediately, Shubble will keep the account restricted while the review is completed.
Family and child accounts
If your account manages child or family profiles, Shubble may need to confirm authority before deleting child-related data.
Some child ride records may be retained in limited form where needed for safety, trip history, payment, dispute, or legal reasons.
